List of Global Feast Events

Global Feast is a repeat success

The WFH's second annual Global Feast fundraiser spanned five continents this fall, and more than 1,000 people around the world helped raise more than $70,000 CDN towards improving treatment for those with bleeding disorders. National hemophilia organizations from eight countries held a variety of fundraising events in September and October, many which emphasized local and cultural traditions.

In the Netherlands, youth with hemophilia donated proceeds from a sailing adventure to the Global Feast. Australia held a sausage sizzle in Melbourne's city square, while New Zealand organized some workplace lunches and the United Kingdom held a dinner for its members that featured a name-that-tune contest.

The Iranian Hemophilia Society screened a documentary about the effects of contaminated blood products and also honored Ramadan with an Iftaar dinner for more than 300 people. WFH headquarters staff and their friends celebrated Thanksgiving with a traditional meal of turkey and fall vegetables at the historic Grey Nuns Mother House in Montreal.

Argentina ’s national hemophilia association held a gala dinner in Buenos Aires attended by the country’s vice president, Daniel Scioli, and health minister, Dr. Ginés González García.
